How Do I Know What Size Ring To Buy?

Finding the right sized ring that fits comfortably on your finger is important. If your ring is a little too loose you risk it slipping from your finger. However if you’re afraid of this you may end up buying a ring which is too tight, which could lead to the ring being uncomfortable or even painful.

The first thing to be aware of is that the size of your finger will change throughout the day. Have you ever noticed how your fingers can be slightly swollen in the morning? This can be especially sore when your ring is too tight. You fingers also tend to swell a little in the evening too. When the weather is hot, your fingers will swell. When the weather is cooler, your finger will be smaller. The best time of day to measure your finger is around lunchtime.

One way to measure your finger at home is to cut a piece of paper into a narrow strip, loop it around your finger, and then make a mark with a pen or pencil on the place where the ring feels most comfortable. You can then measure  the piece of paper against a ruler, and find the corresponding measurement on a ring sizing chart which you can find on google. However, this is not fail safe. It is hard to judge properly when the method of measurement is not solid.
The best way to measure your ring size is to use our handy ring sizing tool. You simply place it around your finger and tighten it as you would a belt. Remember though, you don’t want it to be too tight. You need to be able to slip it on and off over your finger easily by giving it a little wiggle. When you are happy that the band fits comfortably, you’re good to go!

It may sound obvious, but your fingers are all different sizes. You may be a size M for an engagement ring or a wedding band, but if you are looking for a ring for your index finger you will likely need a bigger ring, so ensure you measure each finger you are buying for.

Our ring sizer costs only €4.00 and can be bought here!
